With businesses closing left and right these days due to pandemic-induced lockdowns, it could be encouraging to hear about a success story amid the storm. Well, despite the anomaly holding our society back, 19-year-old Jason Shipway has found a way to prosper. Even though he dropped out of high school when he was just 14 years old, Jason has become a successful entrepreneur during one of the worst economic environments in recent history.

Jason’s story is one of unfettered determination to succeed. He experienced firsthand how rough the job market is right now. With few places hiring and many people out of work, the competition is incredibly high. After applying to nearly a hundred jobs and only getting two interviews that he botched, Jason decided to employ a different strategy. He would hire himself in a company that he would start up. That’s how Enhanced Home Cleaning was born.

With less than $400, Jason was able to get his home cleaning business off the ground in Bunbury, Western Australia and start getting clients. He did this with no discernible skills or qualifications. In fact, he claims to be entirely self-taught in the areas of business and marketing. A mere six months after starting Enhanced Home Cleaning, Jason has secured over $100,000 in revenue.

Jason was committed to offering the best customer service possible, as well as Australia’s “most outrageous” guarantee. If customers didn’t receive the house clean of their dreams, it would be free. Providing an increased value to your customer is what can give you an edge over the competition, paired with a smooth and simple buying experience, and you’ve got yourself the components of a successful business. Jason did both of these, and was handsomely rewarded for it.

Sticking to his humble roots, Jason is now committed to helping other small business owners achieve the success that he too has experienced. Shipway is also the founder of Innovative Results, an online and offline business consulting agency utilizing low-cost marketing to achieve fast results for small businesses. For many small business owners, this may be a saving grace.
