SEO is the best marketing technique to drive traffic & get sales from a website. But if you’re not doing it in the right way then it may be a trouble for you & your website!

Yes, it’s true…!

There are many SEO Practices which can be used to optimize a website for search engines. But it depends upon you that how are you using them…?

If you are using them with their shady sides then it may be a trouble for you because your site can be penalized by Google. If it happens then nothing can be worse than that…!

That’s why you should use right SEO techniques in the right way which will help you to grow your site to lifetime. Yes, it is possible with Evergreen SEO.

But if you are doing these SEO practices In the Wrong way then I want to warn you about that and also guide you to use these in the right way to get more trust & authority.

Keywords

Keywords are the “key” phrases which users search on Google and you are targeting on your site to rank for those keywords. There are major mistakes with keywords I have found on sites:

Wrong Keywords: there is nothing wrong to use & targeting wrong keywords for your site. Google will not penalize you for that…!

But those will be useless for your business. Wrong keywords will only increase your efforts, budget & wastage of the time. But you cannot get any sale, customer from those keywords even you’re ranking on the top.

You should always choose keywords according to your business when you do keyword research to find keywords.

Keyword Stuffing: Adding & repeating the unnecessary keywords to your content is called keyword stuffing.

Keyword stuffing can give a small boost to your rankings in the beginning but after that, your rankings will drop and you can be penalized.

Remember these things to write penalty free content:

· Long tail keywords stuffing gets a penalty than short tail or head keywords. For example, if you are adding the keyword “How to do SEO” (long-tail Keyword) many times in your content then you can be penalized. But you can use keyword “SEO” few times. It’s fine..!

· Write for Users not for Google: Provide quality & information to your audience, don’t think about keywords, keywords density etc.

· Use Keyword Variations & LSI terms in your content.

Content

“Content is the King” you have heard this many times. It is true…! But only when your content will be useful for your audience.

If you can convey your message and provide some useful information to your users then your content will give you output. Otherwise content is useless for you…

Remember that you’re writing content for humans not for robots. So start with a simple & interesting intro and write in a flow. Use simple words which anyone can be understood easily.

Don’t think about Word counts, keywords or anything else like that. There is no surety that you will rank on #1 if your content is 2000 words longer. Google Officially says that word counts have no effect on rankings.

So just write to share something with your audience.

Links

Links are one of the major top 3 ranking factors helps you to boost your rankings with SEO. According to some Studies, the Top #1 result has more links than other results on Google SERP.

But not all the links are equal. Some links are good and others can be bad for your site. Links from High Authority Sites (especially in your niche) can help you to boost rankings.

On the other hand links from low-quality sites or penalized sites can harm your rankings & may penalize you.

Always remember these points to get links:

· Always check the metrics like as MOZ DA, Ahrefs DR of that domain from which you want to get links. Moz DA is not a ranking factor but it can help you to know about that domain & check their backlink profile. Always prefer domains with Higher DA-DR to get Links for your site.

· Get links from your relevant sites (niche related).

· Focus on Quality than quantity. One backlink from a large site is better than 1000 low-quality site links.

Anchor Text

Anchor text is the clickable text in a hyperlink.

Google uses anchor texts to know about the links of that anchor text as well as content on that page.

And SEOs use anchor text to improve their rankings by using exact match or keyword rich anchor texts. But this is too risky…!

Google can penalize your website for that. So avoid the use of Over-optimized anchor texts if you are using (on external & your sites too).

Best Practices to use Anchor Texts:

· You can use naked URLs

· Use brand (or writer’s) name or domain name as anchor text

· Long phrases anchor text is also a best practice.

Guest Posting

It is the best technique to get more traffic, awareness, backlinks, and build relations with other bloggers.

But it is also the easiest way to ask for the penalty from Google. Actually, Guest Posting has two sides: authoritative & spammy.

Authoritative is the legitimate & real meaning of guest posting. When you understand the power of guest posting and do for that then it is the best technique of content marketing.

But when you are doing guest posting only for backlinks then it is the spamming side of guest posting. If you are doing that then you should stop right now…!

Conclusion

SEO is a long game and depends upon many factors.

No matter what techniques are you using for SEO just make sure that you’re not crossing the line.

Think about Long-term & be a brand in your Niche. Then Google will treat you as a brand…!
