A Life Lesson From Flowers

What flowers can teach us about living authentically.

“Nature is our greatest teacher of surrender, of allowing, of simply Being. Every blade of grass, every flower, every tree remembers. This moment. This present. This is where Life is.” ~ Alexandra Domelle

Imagine a time when the Earth was young.

A time when the very first bud bloomed.

And waited.

Then flower after flower opened their petals until the land was awash with colourful blooms.

With not a single human being in existence.

Flowers were thriving.

Without appreciation.

Without admiration.

Without attention.

And not once did any flower decide to stop growing.

Not once did any flower decide to stop flourishing.

Not once did any flower decide to stop Be-ing.

Flowers never hold back.

They blossom to the best of their abilities, regardless of others’ opinions, expectations or attention.

Flowers live authentically.

They live honestly.

They live for the joy of living.

When was the last time you lived this way?

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
