With the average adult now spending two years of their life hungover, the unwanted side effects of alcohol are slowing millions of us down – but they shouldn’t have to.

A couple of drinks here and there – how harmful can it really be? We all do it: a night out with friends; a family weekend getaway; a mid-week blowout with colleagues. There’s nothing unusual about waking up with a sore head every now and again – it’s just part of adult life.

But when Healthspan – a British-based online nutritional health site – asked 2,000 people just how often they wake up feeling hungover, the results put our drinking habits into a whole new – and slightly terrifying – perspective.

Of those 2,000 people, every single one said they wake up at least once a month suffering from a hangover. Now, we know what you’re thinking (because we thought it too): once a month? That’s not too bad, is it?  But, do the math, and the alcohol-induced headaches soon add up: once a month equals 724 days – or just under two years – spent wasted in bed in a single lifetime.

So, just so we’re clear: that’s two years of our lives (two years!) spent with our heads under the covers crushing hundreds of hours of Friends, when, instead, we could be:

●     Spending quality time with family

●     Staying fit and healthy with a morning workout

●     Enjoying time off on a vacation

A hangover with a $148 billion price tag

That last bullet point? It hasn’t gone unfelt by our economy. According to a study by the Annals of Internal Medicine, hangovers have an average annual cost of $2,000 per working adult due to days missed at work and poor job performance. And it’s easy to see why: according to recent research on the topic, severe hangovers have been proven to cause poorer reaction times, memory and attention span, which can also lead to an increased risk of accidents and injury in the workplace.

So perhaps it’s time for some good news…

What if we told you that it’s entirely possible to get those two years of your life back? To stop hangovers, BEFORE they’ve had the chance to slow you down? Like any good lifestyle choice, the secret lies in finding balance.

Manage your hangovers with the right dinner choice, plenty of liquids, and a single OverEZ capsule

#1. Fuel up on some natural fats

Anyone who’s had a 9-5 knows that drinking on an empty stomach is a very bad idea. But did you know that what you eat before you drink can make a big difference? Once alcohol gets into your gut, the rate at which it diffuses into your bloodstream depends on what you’ve had for dinner. Natural, healthy fats (like avocado, eggs, oily fish, and cheese) act as an extra absorption net: they help your stomach suck up more of the alcohol so that it slowly drips into your bloodstream, rather than flooding it.

#2. Hydrate

Alcohol decreases the level of antidiuretic hormones in your body, which basically means you pee more than usual when you drink. If you’re not replenishing those fluids, chances are you’ll suffer from a pretty brutal headache the next day. For every alcoholic drink you have, order a glass of water with it (it won’t affect the buzz you get from alcohol, it will just stop you from dehydrating). Electrolyte drinks work well too, as they will replenish the essential salts your body has lost while drinking.

#3. Detoxify & replenish vital nutrients

Eating a fat-rich meal and rehydrating is key, but it won’t solve all your problems. Alcohol produces one particularly nasty toxin that likes to cause nausea, sluggishness and hot flushes called Acetaldehyde.

OverEZ is packed full of L-Cysteine and Milk Thistle, two powerful nutrients scientifically-proven to break down this hangover-inducing toxin.

But that’s not all: your liver, too, will need protecting. That’s why they added just enough Magnesium, Zinc, Chicory Root and Vitamin B to detoxify your liver and replenish all the essential nutrients and vitamins you need to feel like yourself come morning.

Amazon Customer Review –

Game Changer. Some ingredients used in hospital settings.

This product is amazing and I should become a brand representative I had told so many friends about it. If you take this when you first start drinking I think of it as helping to “shield” your liver from the toxins of alcohol. I work in a hospital and a few of the ingredients are what we give patients who come in with alcohol overdose so this is an amazing product to be able to buy it off of amazon. This has helped me from having day long hang-overs to being up and ready to go the next morning as if I was 21 again!
