Are you stuck in your present position? Do you keep struggling with thoughts of incompetency?

Having a positive thinking habit will help you overcome unfortunate situations — even ones that seem totally out of control. People who see things from the positive side are considered to move faster and get positive results in all their endeavors.

I will say, positive thinking is like medicine – when you apply it to your daily habit, it strengthens your psychological immunity to produce beyond your capacity and do beyond your expectation.

Some people don’t know how important it is to think positively. However, I will tell you why you must not ignore the power of positive thinking even to become a successful person.

“Positive thinking helps the mindset – it brings inspiration, increases your confidence, displays to your sights awesome possibilities, increases your reasoning and makes you believe nothing is impossible,” says Nicholas Dutko of Auto Transport Quote Services.

Below, therefore, are seven (7) positive thinking tips. It will help you in your day to day journey of life.

1. Take Charge Of Your Thoughts

Thoughts are powerful energy which determines our reactions to so many things going on around our environment. Your thought also determines your happiness and sadness, it controls your actions and reactions thereby bringing about the lifestyle we live.

Control your thoughts. Decide about that which you think and concentrate upon. You are in charge of your life to the degree you take charge of your thought,”- Earl Nightingale.

One simple but very effective trick is that, if you can take charge of your thought and use it in a way that will benefit you – if you can erase any bad and negative thinking – you’ll always see positivity in all your doings.

2. Use Positive Words

Our words rule us. We become what we keep on saying about ourselves.

Personally, I observed that people who say positive things usually experience positivity in their endeavors. By saying positive words all the time, it becomes a part of your behavior, which will also help the state of your mind because everything we say comes out of the mind.

“If you want to change your life, begin by changing your words. Start speaking the words of your dreams, of who you want to become, not the word of fear and failure”- Robert Kiyosaki

3. Show Gratitude

Another way to stay positive is to be grateful and to e satisfied with whatever you have.

Avoid greediness, it destroys your inner peace. When you are happy with what you have, you will have rest of mind. However, when you allow greediness,  negative thoughts will fill your mind and deprive you of thinking right.

“Gratitude turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity…it makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” Melody Beattie.

4. Surround Yourself With Positive Thinkers

Always be in the company of people who have the same dreams as you. People who will always force you to be a better person. It will motivate you to succeed even beyond your expectations.

Also, staying with positive thinkers will enable you to think in the right way– they will help you see the good aspect in every situation. And this will, in the long run, catalyze your success.

“Never listen to negative people, surround yourself with positive thinking friends who will encourage your lifestyle and not bring you down’’- Alex Carneiro.

5. Read Books That Will Lift Your Spirit

Reading inspirational books will open your inner eyes and motivate you to think in the right way. Reading widens your knowledge to think beyond your present situation. Inspirational books will inspire and lift your spirit to see possibilities through impossibility. They take you to another realm which changes the way you think and makes you see new things.

The impact of reading cannot be underrated and many successful individuals like, J.K Rowling, Oprah Winfrey, Nicholas Dutko; of Vehicle Transport Services, Benjamin Franklin, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, amongst others, often cite reading inspirational books as one of the top secrets to their successful living.

6. Think About Things That Move You Closer To Your Goals

If you think of things that move you closer to your goal there will be no room for negative thoughts to come in. Cultivate the habit to use at least 5 minutes of your day to do things that move you closer to your goals.

Thinking about irrelevant things will only steal your time, happiness, and in most likeliness cause, make you broke!

Instead of engaging yourself in irrelevant thoughts, think about what will make you reach your goals on time, and before you know it, it becomes your daily routine and you will be there in due time.

7. Believe, Believe, Believe!

Believing in oneself is a way to silence the power of negative thinking. It also triggers the power to do unimaginable things.

David j. Schwartz says those who believe they can move mountains do, those who believe they can’t, cannot’’

Everything about the power of believe starts with thinking. If you can’t think of it you can’t believe it and if you can’t believe it you can’t achieve it!

People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.
