Having the right or wrong mindset in your life and business can have a significant impact.

If you tell yourself something terrible – bad things will likely happen, but if you have a more positive mindset, good things CAN and DO occur!

Having a negative mindset is so destructive to not only your personal development but also to any business you’ve worked hard to build.

We need to change this mindset around to help you achieve your goals, so let’s look at five ways to improve your mindset:

Re-Make Your Story

Everybody has a story about themselves – stories about their life and business, and this can manifest in a lot of different ways. How you depend on your friends and your surroundings will impact on the story that you tell yourself. Do you want it to be negative or positive?

The story you tell yourself about who you are and what you can potentially achieve, how much money you can earn or whether you could have a successful relationship or not are stories that we tell ourselves in our head.

All of these stories that you tell yourself are limiting you and causing you to restrict yourself. The good news is your story can change! YOU have the power to change it – today! It’s never too late to re-write your story!

Write down your current story, break it down, and analyze it. Does this seem like a positive, reasonable story, or is it filled with doubt, fear, unreasonable goals? How can you change it to be more positive and uplifting to your life and business? Write down where you feel you need to make changes to your current story – something is compelling about writing it down!

Define Your Goals

Define what it IS you’re looking to achieve right now. When you find yourself thinking about new things in your life, it means you want a change in your life. It is all about defining in detail what it is you’re looking to accomplish right now.

There’s no point in setting a small goal – make it a big goal that encompasses so many other purposes! To do this, break down your small goals into action steps you can take.

After you have set yourself a big goal to achieve, write it down and see how it is in alignment with your small goals. If it isn’t, ask yourself how you can change it to suit your more modest goals. A prominent goal example is to quit your job, retire early, and travel the world! The possibilities are endless with this size of dreams!

If you don’t know what you want or if you don’t have a dream to find – you can’t actively work toward your vision – so start thinking about your goals!

Visualize Your Goals

If you find it’s hard to come up with a goal or dream, visualizing what you want will significantly help! There are two ways to visualize your goals:

Imagine Your Dreams

Close your eyes and ask yourself what things you’d love to have in your life and business (no dream is crazy – the sky’s the limit!), write them down and keep writing until your page is full are. You’d be surprised to learn what’s all in your head that wants to be heard and seen by you! Let it ALL out!

Create a Vision Board

Using a planner, a digital app, Pinterest, or even a large presentation board, put all of your dreams and goals into a visual collage!

Different Ways To Create a Vision Board

  • You can flip through a bunch of magazines and cut out whatever images speak to you and your goals and glue them to physical paper board.
  • You can browse the Internet – particularly Pinterest – for photos and quotes that interest you and are in alignment with your hopes and aspirations and copy and paste or pin them to a digital board.

Create your dream board in a way that will work best for you and get creative about it!

Creating a dream board is essential and beneficial in reaching your goals. Put it somewhere where you can see it every day! A great tip is to create a screensaver for your phone or laptop using your vision board!

Visualization is the key to seeing your goals every day. It will help to make them come true!

Think Positively

There is a lot of power to thinking positivity because it can do wonders for your life and business and achieving your goals!

To reach your goals and aspirations, you need to have a positive mind; you need to focus your energy on the positive things, and to surround yourself with positive people and positive surroundings.

Every day we tell ourselves negative things such as:

  • “I’m not a fun person. I suck.”
  • “I don’t know where to start – it’s impossible!”
  • “I can’t do this! No one will take me seriously!”
  • “No one will buy my product.”
  • “No one bought my product or service because I suck.”
  • “I am not skilled or experienced enough to run my own business.”
  • “I’ll never reach my dreams!”

You need to combat your negative mindset and replace it with positive self-talk instead! Why not change these thoughts around to sound like this instead:

  • “I can be a fun person! How can I work on myself to put myself out there more in a fun way?”
  • “I don’t know where to start – I’m going to research some ideas and do some visualizations to reach my goals!”
  • “I can do this! No one will take me seriously if I don’t take myself seriously, so how can I position myself as an expert instead?”
  • “I wonder how many people will want to buy my product?”
  • “No one bought my product or my service – I need to make some changes so that next time they definitely will! Two times the charm!”
  • “I have enough skill and experience to run my own business!”
  • “It’s going to be a challenge to reach my dreams, but I am up for a good challenge! I can do this!”

Having a positive mindset is an essential step for helping change your negative mindset. Change your mindset and change your life and business!

Daily Manifestations

Daily manifestation is something that works! Practice this mindset shift to achieve your goals. To do this, write down positive statements of truth and what you desire to achieve. Statements can include:

  • “I am awesome.”
  • “I am a successful businesswoman.”
  • “I run a successful business.”
  • “I am happy.”

Whatever your goals are, create daily manifestations around them. This helps your subconscious brain to start to believe that these things are true.

Write down 5-10 manifestations on post-it notes, and then stick them around your mirror so that when you get ready every morning, brushing your teeth or doing your makeup, etc., read these notes in front of you and say these manifestations out loud.

Repeat these affirmations before you go to bed. Saying these things out loud over and over again will help your subconscious brain to believe those things. What you say to yourself will become true – but, always make it positive, because it can have the same effect with negative self-chatter and you don’t want that to happen!

Your Positive Story and Life is Already in Your Head – Release It

You may not realize it, but your positive story and life/business are already in your head – it’s time to release it and in the process, watch your life and business reach new heights!

Now that you’re aware of the negative stories you tell yourself about what you can’t do, what you aren’t good enough to do and how they are all untrue, you can transform your mindset to be positive, leading to a positive life and business!

Continue to visualize your life while manifesting your dreams and your goals, do the work, and take small action steps daily to make your dreams come true, therefore achieving your goals!

You now know you are capable of anything – so go for your dreams!
