Let’s face it.

We all want to feel accomplished.

But here’s what many people don’t realize:

When it comes to becoming your best self, you hold within you everything you need to achieve anything you want.

But you are where you are today because of your choices. As the saying goes, life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. Everything you are today and everything you will be in the future is determined by your behavior.

So the first rule of thumb?

You have to create good habits to become your best self. So let’s talk about the 5 most common habits of accomplished people.

1. They Set Goals

Goal setting will transform your life.

Almost every accomplished person I’ve ever met has a written and clear plan for what they want out of life. It’s not enough to just think about it.

You have to know exactly what you want and how you’ll get there.
The most important part?

You need to work those written goals into your daily routine. It’s not just about dreaming, it’s about doing.

2. They’re Self-Disciplined

Here’s the bottom line:

Things won’t always go as planned. There will be bumps in the road and many failures along the way. But the only thing pushing you forward is your self-discipline.

But the only person you can control is yourself. You have to make the commitment to yourself that you will do what it takes to get where you want to be.

What’s your purpose?

3. They Create a Daily Routine

You have to plan your day for success. You can achieve anything you want out of life if you create the perfect routine for you.

Of course, everyone’s daily routine will look different.

For example, some might use the time before bed to unwind or prepare for the next day. Others might use the mornings to energize themselves or enjoy moments of silence.

Daily routines look different for different people. What does your ideal day look like?

4. They’re Confident in Their Abilities

It just comes naturally to some people.

But here’s the thing:

You can’t just fake it till you make it. You have to attain it.

Why? Look at the winners in any field. What do they have in common?

They know what they bring to the table. They believe in themselves and their abilities. They acknowledge their fears and doubts but push forward anyway.

Your confidence is not just about achieving success, it’s about developing an attitude that will support you in everything you do.

5. They let go of the past

You need to clear your head. Let go of anything that doesn’t aid your success.

How can you make good decisions, set goals, and work towards your future if you’re stuck in the past?

No one is immune to pain or failure. Not even the most successful people. The only difference, though, is that successful people let go of things that don’t serve them.

Once you let go of the things that hold you back, you make room for so much more.
