Have you ever heard the saying, “Don’t put your eggs all in one basket?”  Why is this an important saying?

Well, many times business owners decide to do all their marketing on one platform.  They buy ads, spend all their time and effort and never look elsewhere.

What happens when that platform goes down, or they change the rules?  You have to scramble to change the way you market.

However, when you are a savvy marketer, you know that the key to success is being seen on multiple platforms.

That means you have to have a presence on other platforms so that your potential customers can find you.

Let’s say you market exclusively on Facebook.  What will you do when they have a problem, and their pages won’t load?  Think it can’t happen?  Well, for the last few weeks, Facebook has had a problem.

How do I know? I’ve tried loading Facebook, and I get the message that the site is experiencing problems.  I’ve also been in many groups on Facebook where people are making the same comment.

Just because something isn’t “widely” publicized does not mean it’s not a problem.

On a daily basis, you or your social media manager needs to check in to Facebook or any platform for that matters and find out what things are working.

The same holds true for your website.  Don’t think things can’t go wrong there as well.

You’ve likely heard that taking small daily actions is the way to experience success in anything you want to do. This is true for many aspects of life, including your business. The actions that get results are consistent, and directly affect your income, as well as provide value to your audience. Doing the right things each day pays off in more than one way.

1) Don’t Make It Too Complicated

It’s not necessary to make things over complicated in your business. Sadly, so many people do not follow this advice.  Technology is fantastic, but to get things done, it’s not required. You don’t need special landing page software, or to worry about complicated algorithms to be successful.

2) Do Your Money-Making Activities First

Your business cannot exist if you don’t earn money.  A strategy you will find helpful is to make a list of activities you do in your business that can directly be credited with earning money. Making offers is the fastest way to make money.

3) Keeping Up with Your Data

The other daily activity that is important to do is to keep up with your data. If you have a CTA, it’s based on something you can measure – make sure you are measuring. If you don’t track and measure, you’re only working on the assumption, and that’s not going to work long term.

4) Always Be Marketing

You’ve probably heard this before, but you should spend more time marketing than doing anything else in your business. Of course, thankfully, you can outsource a lot of tasks to help you with your marketing. At Nelson Visual Productions, we can help you with your marketing and make sure you are on seen on multiple platforms, not just Facebook.

But there isn’t a day that goes by where you shouldn’t be marketing. That may consist of publishing a new article, a white paper, or running a membership drive.  Content can drive engagement, and if you don’t have the proper content that will never happen.  Again, if you need blog posts or any other type of content at Nelson Visual Productions, we can help.

5) Schedule Everything

To ensure that you do the things you need to do to grow your business and get smarter about marketing, it’s a good idea to use your calendar to schedule everything you are going to do. That way, when you go to work, you simply open your calendar and get started on those tasks. Consistency is the key to success when marketing.
