Travel and Yoga = the perfect combination! That’s how my passion for yoga began: practicing during a trip around the world, I realized that yoga is liberating, since all I need is a mat and the will to practice!
Trips to practice yoga can be a transformative experience and change our lives. You may be looking for a place to spend your vacation or a quick weekend retreat, the important thing is that you always take yoga with you, before, during and after practicing 😉
Some places are perfect for practicing yoga, offer the ideal environment and also the opportunity to experience the local culture through food, interaction with people, hiking, surfing and much more. Check out 5 perfect destinations from stress-auszeit.ch for yoga travel.
Ubud, Bali
Eat, pray and love … who never imagined themselves as Julia Roberts in the heart of one of the most exotic destinations in the world? Ubud in Bali is one of the top yoga destinations in the world for good reason. Rooted in Hindu spirituality, Ubud (which actually translates to “medicine”) has always been a center for healing with all the tradition of its famous “healers”. Accommodation options vary widely from hostels for backpackers to high-end resorts. I was there and set up my own retreat, stayed in a hostel very close to The Yoga Barn and tried to eat healthy food for a week (there are many healthy and vegetarian restaurants and cafes in Ubud).
In addition, you will find many options for massages and spa treatments – Balinese massage is very famous worldwide and is not expensive (not even for us Brazilians). The Yoga Barn is one of the best known places in Bali to practice yoga, with a huge timetable, many modalities and the possibility to buy a card for individual lessons, which you use whenever you want. This allows flexibility and cost-effectiveness for travelers. Of course, you will also find all kinds of retreats and yoga schools of various sizes and prices.

In addition to being a place with reasonably cheap air tickets from Brazil. Maybe you can use your miles and make the trip cheaper 😉

For vegetarian yoga, it is easy to find vegan and vegetarian alternatives. Beans and rice are served at almost every meal, see the famous “Gallo Pinto”, along with many fruits and vegetables. In addition, with the number of yoga retreats in the country, restaurants are prepared, especially in tourist areas. In Santa Teresa, there are numerous yoga studios throughout the city. The studios offer different modalities, locations and times. You can stay at one of the many yoga resorts, book private sessions or, if you prefer, take your own rug or towel to the beach and practice!
Algarve, Portugal
If you are looking for a yoga destination that speaks your language, without sacrificing the sun, the sea or the stunning photo sessions, Portugal can be the ideal destination.
In addition to being the perfect destination for those who love the summer, as we can exchange the cold winter in Brazil for the European summer. Algarve is home to numerous yoga retreats and is generally more economical than other European countries, not to mention the Portuguese gastronomy that is a delight!
