Sleeping after a long day of work or play should be an easy feat for most people. However, for a lot of people, sleep doesn’t come that easy. Sleep disorders often get in the way of good healthy sleep of more people than you would notice.

People don’t often take sleep disorders seriously until it starts taking a toll on their physical and mental health. Moreover, there are actually over 70 types of known sleep disorders.

It’s important to identify a problem to address it sooner before it gets too difficult to manage. While we can’t cover all these disorders now, we’ve covered the most common ones that you could potentially be experiencing.

Insomnia

Perhaps the most recognized one, this disorder affects almost half of most populations anywhere at some time in their lifetime. Moreover, unfortunately, about 10% of those who suffer Insomnia at some point continue to have it chronically.

While the condition also affects people while awake, it’s recognized as a sleep disorder because it disrupts sleep. Narcolepsy

There are different triggers for these attacks that cause unexpected drowsiness or sleeping. Apart from these attacks, sufferers often experience excessive sleepiness in the daytime altogether.

Narcolepsy can also cause cataplexy, sleep paralysis and hallucinations. Meanwhile, though the disorder causes sleepiness in the daytime, it actually disturbs nighttime sleep too.
