I authored 11 books, 225 essays, and numerous poems that received 17 national and international awards including the 2009 London Book Festival Grand Prize for my memoir, Lessons for the Living (cited in Arianna's Thrive as one of 7 books anyone desiring personal growth should read) My three-act play Choices received first place in the 2007 Oxford International Institute Festival of New Work. I have been featured in The New York Times, USA Today, Women’s Health, and Psychology Today, and appeared on KRON-TV and the BBC (Spanish broadcast), among other media outlets.
