Sara Calabro is a licensed acupuncturist and the founder of AcuTake, the first consumer acupuncture publication. She discovered acupuncture by way of journalism. The experience of working as a healthcare business journalist provided an up-close look at modern medicine’s shortcomings and inspired her to explore other perspectives on health. Upon becoming an acupuncturist, Sara practiced privately and in community clinics, where she identified a need for resources that discussed acupuncture in an accessible way. She combined her journalism background and immersion in acupuncture to create AcuTake. Sara lives, writes, and practices acupuncture in New York City.
