Paula Talman

I am the founder of iSpace Wellbeing, a registered nurse in both adult and paediatric nursing. I have an MSc in Nursing Science and over 25 years of experience in family centred health care. A leader in the provision of children's mental health and wellbeing education, school inspector, safeguarding consultant, mental health first aid instructor and mindfulness teacher. 2 times innovation award winner.

I have a wealth of experience in child development and mental health within both the hospital and educational setting.

My passion is to support children with their mental, emotional, physical and social development as they journey through life. My mission is to protect and improve the mental health and wellbeing of over 1 million children by 2025.

I believe that:

“Mental and emotional wellbeing as subjects require time, sensitivity and understanding, as much from the adults teaching them as the children learning.

The schools that subscribe to the free award winning iSpace Wellbeing Curriculum have access to a complete CPD accredited online training and support programme for teachers and are therefore able to support children 4-13 in learning a common language when it comes to their wellbeing, and in developing confidence in who and how to ask for help. In turn this helps alleviate the added pressure on teachers to have all the answers or use time that they don’t have to find them.

I am proud that my team and I have a ready-made solution with the iSpace Wellbeing Curriculum and toolkit to support teachers and parents in safeguarding the mental health of the next generation.”

“Two paths diverged in a lonely wood and I took the one less travelled by and that has made all the difference”.
