Olivia Lou Yao is a Special Education Specialist with credentials for both mild-to-moderate and moderate-to-severe disabilities in the states of Arizona and California. Her experience in the US includes work for the Santa Clara County of Education, where she led an autism project classroom.
Realizing the extreme need for parent education and empowerment, she established the Responsible Roots Parents Center in California.
Olivia has over a decade of experience as an Advanced Behavior Interventionist trained in the Lovaas method of ABA, Pivotal Response Treatment, Discrete Trial Therapy, TEACCH, PODDS, MEPPS, PECS, and more.
She has worked with individuals with autism, specific learning disabilities, emotional disturbance, other health impairments, multiple disabilities, Down syndrome, and other disabilities.
Olivia now resides in the Philippines, where she continues to provide excellent intervention to children, individuals, and families in need. Her practice focuses on family education and empowerment covering behavior management, communication and social skills development, independent life skills acquirement, and more. She does SPED and behavior consultation for educational institutions, and she helps companies and corporations ready their workplace to be more inclusive of special needs individuals through a workability program.
Olivia is also a mental health advocate and resource speaker. She is also a fitness enthusiast, entrepreneur, corporate consultant, ISO Lead Auditor, and KUMU Livestreamer.
