Monîtrice Y. Malone
Stroke Survivor. Model. Writer. Speaker. Trainer. disAbility Advocate
Monitrice is a native Houstonian, but has lived in Europe and several US states. But calls the suburbs of Katy, TX home. Currently resides in Los Angeles as an aspiring Classic/Lifestyle Model.
She has always been creative and resourceful. Quite the autodidact. She taught herself how to turn socks into ensembles for her Barbies. As a child in the 70’s, she learned about koala bears and Lilliputians and Gulliver’s Travels simply via door-to-door book salesmen. Becoming an avid bibliophile, transforming her world came easy. But life wasn’t always light pen strokes. Yet, she’s managed to survive and overcome insurmountable challenges with her heart intact. Especially after a Transient Ischemic Stroke at 19 years of age. She's an honored “Stroke Hero” by the American Heart Association. Where she has served as an Outreach Ambassador. She has served with various organizations Chrons & Collitius Foundation, MD Anderson Hospital, Dress for Success-Houston, AIDS Foundation-Houston, Muséum of Fine Arts, Government Procurement Connection, to name a few.
Many guest appearances on Great Day Houston, Mirriam Williamson Show, and the Susie Orman Show, to name a few. She holds various business certifications, including Disability Leader Trainer, OSHA Disaster & Recovery Trainer.
With a background in journalism, social work, and entrepreneurship, she’s committed herself to adding value by rendering hope and healing to countless others. Starting with herself. Daily journaling is her greatest comfort. Currently in her second act, she is pursuing a career as a classic/lifestyle model. Fingers crossed.
Monîtrice is humbled to invest and receive golden nuggets of wisdom. She lives by this motto, “Invest in others, the greatest dividend.”
