Melanie Hicks, PhD


Melanie Hicks, PhD is the author of the upcoming book Incongruent; My misaligned life and the trek to becoming congruent.  Writing her first book at 10 years old, she has now been published in numerous magazines and websites including, The District, Doctor’s Life and the Journal for Research Administration. Among her published works is a chapter in Moc Ideja, a grassroots policy manual written for policymakers in Bosnia and funded by the US Department of State. Additionally, she is the Editor in Chief of Social Enterprise Quarterly and the Pro Bono COO of Humanity Wine Co.

Dr. Hicks is a professional coach with more than 18 years of experience helping executives, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations create successful future strategies through consulting and social enterprise advisory services.

Dr. Hicks holds a doctorate from the Askew School of Public Administration and Policy at Florida State University. Her awards include the Rod Rose Paper of the year award for the Journal of Research Administration, the Joyce Keller Volunteer of the Year Award, the Florence Bayuk Scholarship for academic excellence; the University of Miami Outstanding Scholastic and Public Service Achievement Award.
