Mary J. Nestor, Author, Communications Expert, Speaker

Mary Nestor is an author and freelance writer with credits in the Savannah Morning News, Training Magazine, Supervision Magazine and Gannett News Service. She is a prolific internet writer and blogger, and award-winning speaker. “Emily’s Best Birthday Party EVER!,” her first children’s book, is a story about using resourcefulness, imagination, and a few found objects to overcome disappointment and consider some new “old” ideas to find solutions to life’s challenges. Her second book, SAY IT NOW! SAY IT RIGHT! Tips to Handle the Tough (and Tender) Conversations in Any Business or Life Situation, was released by Motivational Press in October 2016. Through humorous and sometimes poignant stories, she shares tips, scripts and techniques on the importance of taking the opportunity to find your voice and speak your truth at the moment of greatest impact with the right words, delivery and motives so your message is heard and gets results. Mary’s fiction short story, Bus No. 7, was selected for publication in the 2016 Bear River Review, University of Michigan, and is now becoming a thrilling mystery/suspense novel. The youngest in a family of eight, Mary grew up in Gary Indiana, and has two grown children and five grandchildren. She moved to Savannah in 2005, and when she’s not writing or speaking, she is at the marina dock, crabbing and shrimping. Contact Mary at: [email protected]; www.maryjnestor.com. 912-844-1794
