I spend my days learning backward. I live in the hallowed and messy trenches of being human. I think in metaphors. Drawing connections between people, ideas, conversations, behaviors, patterns, and data keeps my mind in flow. I live at the edge of discovery, at the beginning of possibility, and in the here and now. I am a mother, writer, artist, advocate, voice, creator, student, and teacher. I am a great beginner. I am me.
I am a freelance writer and artist with a penchant for personal narrative and storytelling. Other areas of interest include social justice, education, and education reform, politics, parenting special needs children, anxiety and mental illness, and autism.

“People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.”
- MARCUS AURELIUS
