Louis M. Numkin is President of Hadassah Associates, the distinguished 55-year-old men’s volunteer organization boasting 33,000 supporters of the work of Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Inc. (HWZOA) and Hadassah’s two world-class research hospital in Jerusalem. Born in Reading, PA, Louis’ family relocated to the Washington, DC area where he grew up in Silver Spring, MD. Today, he remains a part-time resident, spending time between there and Lewes, DE. His Jewish upbringing was Conservative as a student, member, and minyanaire in several Synagogues. Louis earned his BS and MS from American University in Computer and Information Technology studies. Professionally, his career in both the Federal Government and private industry primarily dealt in Computer Security. Most prized among his awards was being named Educator of the Year by his peers in the Federal Information Systems Security Educators Association in 1998. Since retirement, he has actively supported the Hebrew Home of Greater Washington, Congregation HarTzeon-AgudathAchim, and other charities to include Hero Dogs, Inc, and Shriners Hospitals for Children. Militarily, he is a Retired Sergeant Major of the US Army, having served 27-years, mustering out as a Chief Legal NCO. Fraternally, Louis has led several Masonic organizations (Blue Lodge, Shrine Club, Order of the Eastern Star, and is a National Officer in National Sojourners, Inc) and received the KCCH Honor from the Scottish Rite. Nuptially, during the 2012 Hadassah Centennial (where Louis donated a bench in the Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem lobby in memory of his parents) he met Suzie and they stood together under the Chuppah in April 2019.
