Lisa Suennen

Lisa Suennen has spent 30 years in healthcare as both entrepreneur, advisor and venture capitalist. She is currently Managing Partner of Venture Valkyrie LLC, an advisory firm focused on helping organizations with venture capital & innovation programs, new business creation and digital health strategy. Lisa is also on faculty at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. Additionally, Lisa is co-founder of CSweetener, which matches women in and nearing the healthcare C-Suite with mentors. Lisa spent the last 20 years as a venture capitalist, first as a partner with Psilos Group, then leading the healthcare fund at GE Ventures. Prior to that, she was part of the leadership team that built Merit Behavioral Care, an $800mm behavioral healthcare company, through its successful IPO and exit. Lisa’s focus throughout her career has been on the intersection of technology with health and healthcare and how to leverage that for the good of patients, clinical teams, employers and payers. Lisa serves on several private company boards and chairs the board of the NASA -funded Translational Research Institute for Space Health. She also writes the Venture Valkyrie blog and hosts the Tech Tonics podcast.
