When Lisa McElhone graduated from St. Joseph’s University with a degree in management information systems, she assumed that she would go on to lead an ordinary career: perhaps one like her first job as a quality assurance technician. That job, however, failed to ignite the creative passion that characterized her earlier years, when she studied dance at a creative and performing arts high school in Philadelphia. Soon after, she left the global research firm where she was working to pursue a more inspiring field.
Lisa’s McElhone launched business in various different industries: including consumer product, small business finance and telecommunications. Through those experiences, she gained a wide range of business experience and skills, which she she put to excellent use and refined her leadership skills. Through that range of experiences, however, Lisa failed to find a field that ignited her passions. She decided to move to Miami, where she thought she stood better odds of being able to use her creative energy.
In Miami, Lisa found something unexpected: nail salons with an exceptional focus on cleanliness, trendiness, and socialization. Miami nail salons offered cool music, a fun atmosphere, and an amazing experience that she looked forward to every week.
On a visit to luxury resort, Lisa had a traumatic visit to a spa that resulted in a skin infection due to a lack of proper hygiene procedures. Out of what could have been a negative experience, however, Lisa reached a highly positive conclusion: she wanted better for her hometown Philadelphia.
Thus, Lacquer Lounge was born. Lisa decided that she wanted to focus on clean, ethical beauty practices that would allow every visitor to her facility to have a high-quality, luxurious experience. Not only does Lacquer Lounge allow its patrons to sit back, relax, and engage in self-care practices, including stunning nail designs, it provides a quality education on clean, ethical beauty solutions. Under the direction of Medial Director Alyssa Piccillo, Lacquer Lounge focuses heavily on providing a clean, safe experience for every guest, including hygiene protocols designed to provide maximum protection for each guests while making the experience more luxurious than ever before.

“People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.”
