Laurie Mitchell is responsible for the design, delivery and management of initiatives that support the wellbeing of 10,000 Colonial Life and Unum employees and their families in the U.S., U.K. and Ireland. This includes the integration of innovative and targeted programs, policies, processes and environmental approaches that support health inside and outside the workplace. She partners with business leaders and the insurance team to identify strategies to address workforce health and productivity concerns – for both employees and customers. Her strategies include the use of behavioral economics and technology to actively engage employees across the enterprise in high-value programs and healthcare services proven to maintain or improve health. Colonial Life is a market leader in providing financial protection benefits through the workplace, including disability, life, accident, dental, cancer, critical illness and hospital confinement indemnity insurance. The company’s benefit services and education, innovative enrollment technology and personal service support more than 86,000 businesses and organizations, representing 3.7 million of America’s workers and their families.
