Lalith Ananda Gunaratne


Lalith Ananda is a parent, entrepreneur and educator weaving eastern and western philosophies and aboriginal wisdom into a tapestry of well-being and self mastery. Mindfulness practice is the foundation for all his work as a trainer/facilitator, entrepreneur, business developer and consultant. He brings practical experience and a diverse worldview to the area of training and facilitation. His broad life and professional experience began as a pioneer to co-establish a solar energy venture in the late 1980s which was sold to Shell Renewables International in 1999. In 2002, he co-founded Sage Training in South-Asia facilitating leadership and team building workshops for the private-sector, government, donor agencies and NGOs. He is a trained facilitator for the British Council’s educational and youth leadership programs. He has run programs in Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Indonesia, Maldives, Guyana and Canada. He established Sage Ontario for Mindful Leadership and LGSE Partners Inc. bringing in a holistic way of learning and leading. He operates between Ottawa and Colombo, Sri Lanka. He trains and consults to governments, non-profits and private sector in Canada, South and South-East Asia. As an entrepreneur, he is a Director of Supan Group and oursun Canada Inc. developing commercial renewable energy projects internationally.  He also has an alliance with Efficiency Capital Inc. to develop business for energy efficiency retrofit investments in Canada. He has a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Nuclear Option) from Seneca College in Ontario, Diploma in Marketing from Chartered Institute of Marketing, United Kingdom and MSc in Responsibility and Business Practice from University of Bath, United Kingdom. His current research and inquiry is on human behaviour, organizations, sustainability and spirituality.
