Joy immigrated to the U.S. when she was 10 and began assisting her parents in their real estate business at 11. Prior to attending college, she had acquired, managed and disposed several commercial real estate assets. By the time she attended college, she not only gained deep industry knowledge, more importantly, she learned how to work with and respect people from diverse backgrounds. She graduated With Distinction from Cornell School of Hotel Administration, the top hospitality program in the world.
Joy began her Wall Street career as the only woman at DLJ’s core CRE finance group. She continued to climb the corporate ladder as a Vice President at Lehman Brothers and at age 31 became Barclay’s Head of Hospitality Real Estate practice. While she had a successful career on Wall Street with an impeccable reputation and an expansive network, Joy was ready for more and turned to entrepreneurship. She became passionate about technology when she co-founded RAISC, a platform that helped troubled banks manage over $3B of real estate and dispose 50% of their criticized assets during the Great Recession. After learning about the power and influence of technology, she aspired to build a platform meaningful enough to impact the world in which people work. She co-founded ContinuM, a productive platform where work equals network. Instead of using multiple applications to accomplish work, ContinuM provides individuals and organizations a way to centralize their work and naturally capture their network. Her goal is to digitally connect people as they collaborate on ContinuM in order to augment everyone’s success.
Joy resides in San Diego with her husband and her 11-year old son. She is a foodie who enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with her family.
