Ilona is an outstanding educator with over 20 years of experience helping children ranging from 1st grade through 12th grade who are struggling in their school, social, and/or home environment. She focuses on alternative learning plans and strategies; Ilona approaches children and families from a perspective that emphasizes the “normalcy” of struggle, conflict, and negative feelings as a part of life rather than as symptoms of an illness that requires a diagnosis and medication. Ilona is an expert in understanding and communicating what is involved in various learning processes, as well as in identifying the root causes of kids’ and adolescents’ struggles. Her caring heart and experience also focuses on collaboration with parents, and helps to organize and guide families as part of the treatment plan. Ilona is certified in Transactional Analysis, and has been called a catalyst, counselor, advisor, and mentor for families and their children.

“People look for retreats for themselves, in the country, by the coast, or in the hills . . . There is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind. . . . So constantly give yourself this retreat, and renew yourself.”
