A consultant, writer and public speaker, Dr. Bob is a cognitive neuroscientist and cultural anthropologist who has spent the last three decades eliciting and hearing peoples’ individualistic stories of their everyday lives and finding the universal themes that underlie each personal narrative. His aim is to be both a witness and a re-teller of such plots so that people can see they may have more options and more humanness than otherwise thought. Bob has worked in the primeval forest, in the strategy rooms along Pennsylvania Avenue and in the war rooms on Madison Avenue. His book, The Five Essentials: Using Your Inborn Resources to Create a Fulfilling Life (Penguin, 2013) sought to describe how we all can live the best version of ourselves. He is now working on a follow-up book, Becoming An Artful Thinker, in order to reveal the cognitive proclivities and mental attitudes famous performing and fine artists embody and posits that as a model for how we all can be more successful in dealing creatively with today’s too fast and too complex world. Dr. Bob was a columnist for Huffington Post.
