Dawn LaCarte is a Behavioral Health Treatment Consultant with over 20 years of experience in the field of behavioral health and substance use. Her passion for helping families overcome strife, recover from trauma and understand their emotional adversity has propelled her career as a treatment consultant.

 

After spending nearly two decades working in the Behavioral Health Treatment field in numerous capacities, Dawn LaCarte partners with families to navigate their treatment landscape for the best level of care suited for their individual needs. Dawn believes in the power of connecting with people, careful understanding of their needs and communicating those needs to ensure recovery for the entire family. Her skills in tapping into deeper emotions to reveal the root of your issues is unparalleled to others. Dawn’s kind and warm demeanor have created close, trusting relationships with patients and have made her truly, one of a kind.

Dawn LaCarte has worked extensively with diagnostically complex groups of individuals addressing substance use disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, mood disorder, personality disorders, trauma, grief and loss. Over the last 7 years she has gained extensive experience touring numerous treatment centers, extended care programs, intensive outpatient programs. Her time has been exclusively dedicated to repairing family hardships and how best to treat past traumas that have stunted growth in family dynamics. Dawn works with those who have experienced grief and loss and who have exhibited trauma-related behaviors that preclude them from accessing their personal, academic, and professional strengths. She finds assisting family units to understand their behavior and accessing evidence-based treatment does, in turn, help patients and families regain their interests, relationships, and lives.

Dawn holds a BA in Sociology and Criminal Justice from the New York State University of Albany where she pursued her Masters in Social Work. Dawn is a NYS OASAS Advanced CASAC, Certified Recovery Coach, a trained Love First Clinical Interventionist and Master Reiki Practitioner.

Affiliations include AIS; AAAP; NAADAC; ACA; WAAT and CCAR.

Outside of her career, Dawn LaCarte enjoys spending time with her lovely family and Cavalier King Charles named Chloe. She is also a Master Reiki Practitioner. Reiki is the Japanese method of spiritual healing and self-improvement designed to alleviate stress and promote healing and relaxation.
