Pritam is originally from Tisha, a village located near Kolkata, India. He completed a Ph.D. (2013) in Physics from the USA (at Kent State University, Kent, Ohio) after his M.Sc. in Physics from IIT Bombay (2007). After Ph.D., he worked as a postdoctoral researcher (2013-2015) at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
At present, Pritam is writing books full time. His first novel “Rains from a Smoky Sky” was published in January 2017. “Rains from a Smoky Sky” deals with following dreams, pursuing the passion, waste management, reducing pollution, cleaning up our smoky thoughts and environment, making life a grand celebration of experiencing, learning and contributing. His upcoming books deal with finding purpose in life (both in professional and personal grounds) and how to learn a new field of knowledge and how to connect and interpret existing knowledge/stories from across the world.
Among all activities and works, Pritam says that writing is his strongest passion. He says that writing is what makes him feel truly alive; he feels that writing is what beats the chaos and noise out of him; bringing balance and peace in his being; offering him the pleasure of re-experiencing life and expressing it (what it feels to be alive; what it feels to be happy or unhappy; sad or cheerful; cursed or blessed or blissful).
Pritam wants to work in the fields of higher education, that requires vision, passion, dedication, and management to help an institution flourish and progress ...and helping people/students find their true potential. Above everything, I love writing. I think I am most comfortable being an educational leader, researching/writing books/theses/articles on Education. Pritam wishes to work in a position that will allow him reading, researching and writing books/articles on subjects from Literature, Science, History, Physics, Philosophy, Psychology, Poetry...The universe, space-time, people, continents, culture...nature, environment and human endeavor.
Pritam wishes to remain a learner forever; finding motivation, enthusiasm, energy and time to read, explore experience, understand, learn, appreciate and, of course, write. He sincerely wishes to bring in a little light and peace to the world we live in.
“Let there be love, light, writing, and peace”, this is what he prays for every day.
Pritam lives with his wife Libia in Visakhapatnam, India where he spends most of his time reading, researching, writing, running, cycling and trying to follow an ‘organic’ lifestyle.
