Anita. She’s a change agent, a relationship builder and a tour de force. As the eldest of five children in Co. Louth Ireland, she excelled in school and won a national public speaking competition, along with obtaining a diploma in piano from the London School of Music. She went on to graduate from Queen’s University Belfast, earning a Ph.D. in atomic and molecular physics and a First Class Honors degree in physics and applied mathematics. A Fulbright and O’Reilly Foundation scholar, Anita attended Carnegie Mellon University where she graduated with highest distinction with a master’s in public policy and management.
This global technology and business leader is on the board of directors of three public companies—Symantec Corporation, a member of the F500, and the world’s leader in Cyber-Security; Service Now, an enterprise SaaS service management company; and Pure Storage, a leading innovator in the enterprise storage space. She is also an active investor and serves on the advisory board of Grand Central Tech—a leading New York-based technology incubator - as well as the Dean’s Advisory Board at Heinz College, CMU. She is also a member of the Digital Advisory Board at Box.
Prior to her technology career, Anita spent a decade in the financial services sector, specializing in technology innovation and enterprise transformation. She was the youngest-ever Senior Vice President at the Royal Bank of Canada as the Head of Innovation & Process Design. After moving to NYC to work as Head of Transformation for Global Technology and Operations at Citigroup, she joined UBS Wealth Management, where at the age of 33, she was appointed as Chief Operating Officer responsible for technology, operations and corporate services.
Anita speaks regularly on the advancement of women and digital disruption. She has been to all 7 continents including an expedition to Antarctica led by polar explorer Robert Swan, OBE, and is a proud mother and step-mother to 6 children.
